North Atlanta Voices is very proud of its Platinum Seal of Transparency, awarded by Candid, itself a nonprofit organization. Candid is dedicated to connecting nonprofits with resources. Candid’s data tools on nonprofits, foundations, and grants are the most comprehensive in the world. As of late 2020 (the latest information available from Candid), only 5% of the more than 1.7 million nonprofits registered with the IRS earned a Candid seal of transparency. Candid considers transparency of information that the nonprofit shares with the general public using several metrics – finances, goals, program information, strategies, capabilities, achievements, progress indicators, people involved, and the difference the nonprofit is making – in order for a nonprofit to earn a seal of transparency. Candid awards 4 levels of transparency seals – Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum, with Platinum being the highest-rated seal. Less than 1% of all nonprofit organizations in the United States are awarded the Platinum Seal of Transparency, and North Atlanta Voices is very pleased to be part of that elite group.
